Sparkling Blanc de Noir

Vivid gold in the glass, York Vineyards’ Blanc de Noir is crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, grown on vines planted in 1986 just 500 feet from Lake Ontario. A single-barrel selection resulting in only 250 bottles, it captures a lakeshore vineyard that no longer exists. Future expression of York’s Blanc de Noir will follow, but this release preserves a singular connection to that place.

Two years in barrel followed by five years on lees bring depth and complexity, while an exceptionally fine mousse lends a seamless, creamy texture.

The expressive nose unfolds with white currant, fresh apple, cherry, marzipan and ripe plum layered over vanilla bean. Together, the fruit and vanilla suggest mango sorbet, while hazelnut, brioche, and a hint of peppercorn reflect patient maturation.

Plush and broad, the palate is lifted by gentle acidity. Orchard and stone fruits mingle with brioche and hazelnut, the delicate mousse uniting each layer. Complex and beautifully balanced, this Blanc de Noir invites unhurried enjoyment.
